Ultraviolette Automotive announced the launch of its Battery Flex programme for the X-47 Crossover. The model follows a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) structure, allowing customers to purchase the vehicle without paying the full battery cost upfront.

Under this plan, the starting price of the Ultraviolette X-47 is ₹1,49,000 (ex-showroom). The battery pack is offered separately on a subscription basis.

Partnership With Ecofy

The company has partnered with Ecofy, a non-banking financial company focused on green financing. Ecofy will facilitate the financing and subscription structure for the battery component.

Subscription Details

The battery subscription under Battery Flex starts at ₹2,499 per month. According to the company, the battery pack will be covered by a five-year warranty during the subscription period. Customers will pay for the vehicle chassis upfront, while the battery cost is spread across fixed monthly payments.

Ownership Structure

Ultraviolette stated that the new structure reduces the initial purchase cost of the X-47 by about 40% compared to buying the vehicle with the battery included. At the end of the subscription tenure, the ownership of the battery pack will be transferred to the customer at no additional charge. Enrolments for the Battery Flex programme opens today.

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder at Ultraviolette commented, “At ₹2.5 lakh, Ultraviolette was at price parity with similarly powered ICE motorcycles. Now, with a starting price of ₹1.5 lakh, riders gain access to better technology, features, and performance that outpaces every segment. With operating costs as low as ₹2499 per month, which is lesser than the average spends on petrol, we are redefining what affordability means in motorcycling. The introduction of Battery Flex makes performance, technology-driven mobility more attainable and practical for riders across India, while keeping the focus firmly on what matters most: the thrill of riding an Ultraviolette.”

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO & Co-founder at Ultraviolette, said, “Battery technology sits at the core of every electric vehicle, and at Ultraviolette we have invested years of R&D to ensure our batteries deliver uncompromised performance, safety, and longevity. With the launch of Battery Flex, we are extending this innovation to our customers in a way that is both flexible and accessible. It reflects our commitment to building technology that adapts to customer needs and makes performance mobility more practical than ever before.”
