Mercedes-Benz has introduced the CLA electric sedan in India with a starting price of Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). The model replaces the A-Class Limousine as well as the EQA and EQB in the brand’s entry-level portfolio. The CLA nameplate was previously available in India with internal combustion engines. This is its first fully electric version. The company stated that more than 400 bookings were recorded after order books opened in March 2026.

The CLA EV is available in three versions:
- CLA 200 Standard Range Progressive Line – Rs 55 lakh
- CLA 250+ Long Range AMG Line – Rs 59 lakh
- CLA 250+ Long Range Launch Edition – Rs 64 lakh
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Battery, Range and Performance
The CLA 200 variant is equipped with a 58 kWh battery and a rear-mounted motor producing 224 hp and 335 Nm. It has a claimed WLTP range of up to 542 km and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

The CLA 250+ Long Range uses an 85 kWh battery. It produces 272 hp and has a claimed range of up to 792 km. The 0–100 km/h acceleration time is 6.7 seconds. Both variants use a two-speed transmission system. The model is based on an 800V electrical architecture, supporting charging speeds of up to 320 kW. Under suitable conditions, the vehicle can gain around 300 km of range in 10 minutes.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Design and Exterior
The CLA EV follows a coupe-style sedan design with a sloping roofline and frameless doors. It has a drag coefficient of 0.21. The lighting elements incorporate multiple three-pointed star patterns, including an illuminated grille design. The AMG Line variant features different bumpers and wheel designs.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Interior and Features
The interior includes a digital display layout across the dashboard. Standard versions get a 14-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver display. The Launch Edition includes a full-width display with an additional passenger screen.

The battery is covered under an 8-year or 1.6 lakh km warranty. In India, the CLA EV will compete with models such as the BYD Seal in the premium electric sedan segment.
Additional Updates
Alongside the CLA EV, Mercedes-Benz has introduced Celebration Editions of the C-Class and E-Class. These editions are limited to 140 units each and include added equipment such as rear-seat features and dashcams.
