VinFast and TÜV Rheinland have agreed on a memorandum of understanding. To enhance their vehicle testing, inspection, and certification capacities in Vietnam. The memorandum of understanding was signed on 15 July 2026 in Hanoi. The companies are trying to present it as a move toward better international standards within the automotive sector of Vietnam.

Scope of the partnership

Within the MOU, the companies are going to cooperate in technical advisory, testing, certification, and training services. Specifically, the VinFast Testing Center will be established to meet international standards, making possible a greater number of tests performed in Vietnam rather than outside it.

The cooperation agreement also has an industrial scope. For example, TÜV Rheinland is going to give the preference to the VinFast Testing Center regarding all the projects in Vietnam and ASEAN region, as well as promote it among the international car manufacturers.

With global experience in the field of testing, inspection and certification, TÜV Rheinland looks forward to accompanying VinFast in enhancing technology, promoting technological innovation and developing services that meet the increasing needs of the market."

Significance

This collaboration could assist in reducing the test duration, increasing the quality of certification services locally and in helping VinFast venture into the international market. This cooperation can also enhance Vietnam’s role in the global auto value chain through increasing local knowledge of the validation process.

Features of the Partnership

  • Facility development: Collaborative development and enhancement of VinFast’s testing facilities to meet international standards of testing. This is in regard to test methodologies, equipment, and quality control procedures.
  • Transfer of knowledge and training: Training of VinFast’s engineers and technicians on testing methodologies, safety testing, and certification procedures so that they can carry out internationally recognized tests.
  • Third party certification services: Possible future provision of certification services by TÜV Rheinland on vehicles and components that have been tested in their locally enhanced facilities.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, Deputy General Director of VinFast in charge of Quality Control Division, emphasized: "Cooperation with TÜV Rheinland is an important step in VinFast's long-term development strategy to build product research, testing and development capacity according to international standards. It not only contributes to improving product quality but also opens up opportunities for VinFast to gradually participate in the technical service network of the regional and international automotive industry, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam's automotive industry ecosystem."
