The board of Uno Minda Limited has approved changes in senior management roles and cleared an investment plan to source renewable energy through special purpose vehicles (SPVs).

Senior Management Changes

The company announced role changes across its leadership team:

  1. Rakesh Kher will move from CEO – Aftermarket Domain to Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Advisor for the same division.
  2. Vishal Kaul has been elevated to CEO – Aftermarket Domain.
  3. Vishnu Johri will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for 4W Lighting and ASEAN operations.

All changes will be effective from April 1, 2026.

Investment in Renewable Energy SPVs

The board has approved an investment of up to ₹750.20 lakh in multiple SPVs in one or more tranches. These investments will be made by Uno Minda and its subsidiaries, including Uno Mindarika Pvt. Ltd. and Uno Minda Kyoraku Ltd.

The SPVs are involved in generating and supplying renewable energy from solar and wind projects in India.

Purpose of the Investment

The company stated that the investment will help it access renewable power under open access arrangements for its manufacturing units in Haryana and Tamil Nadu.

The move is aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy in its power consumption.

Transaction Details

  1. Total investment: Up to ₹750.20 lakh
  2. Mode: Cash, in multiple tranches
  3. Shareholding: Up to 30% in respective SPVs
  4. Timeline: Expected completion by Q2 FY2026–27

The investment does not fall under related party transactions.
