Industry Volumes Also Increased

VAHAN data shows that electric two-wheeler registrations across India increased from around 1.48 lakh units in April 2026 to nearly 1.70 lakh units in May 2026. This represents a growth of about 15% during the month.

Compared with the broader market, Ola Electric's registration growth of 23% was higher than the industry average in May.

Electric Two-Wheeler Demand Continues to Expand

The Indian electric two-wheeler segment has witnessed steady growth in recent years, supported by rising consumer interest in lower running costs and alternative mobility options. The segment remains one of the largest contributors to overall EV adoption in the country.

Manufacturers across the sector continue to focus on expanding product offerings, improving charging access, and increasing production capacity to support future demand.

An Ola Electric spokesperson said, "Ola Electric has delivered its third consecutive month of growth, with May registrations rising 23% month-on-month and significantly outpacing industry growth. The strong demand environment, coupled with increasing traction for our Roadster portfolio, has helped us maintain the growth momentum. We remain focused on accelerating EV adoption through innovative products, technology leadership, and scale."

Elctrik Speaks

Ola Electric's May performance reflects a recovery in registration volumes after a challenging start to the year. While the company posted growth above the industry average during the month, the broader takeaway is the continued expansion of India's electric two-wheeler market. Sustained growth across the segment will depend on product affordability, charging infrastructure availability, and consumer confidence in EV ownership.
