Honda Elevate Facelift: Expected Interior and Feature Updates
The updated Elevate is expected to receive changes to the cabin, including a revised interior theme and updated seat upholstery. The basic dashboard layout is likely to remain similar to the current model. Honda could also add new features to the SUV. The current Elevate does not offer features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a powered front passenger seat and rear sunblinds.
Honda has already introduced ventilated front seats and a factory-fitted 360-degree camera on the updated City. These features could also be offered on the Elevate facelift. The current Elevate can be equipped with a 360-degree camera through a dealer-level accessory.
Honda Elevate Facelift Engine and Gearbox
The facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. In the current model, the engine produces 121hp and 145Nm.
Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-step CVT automatic. The Elevate is based on the same platform as the Honda City, which is also offered with a 1.5-litre petrol strong-hybrid powertrain. The City hybrid produces a combined 126hp and 253Nm. Honda has not offered this hybrid powertrain in the Elevate so far. Whether the updated SUV gets a hybrid option will be known at the launch.
Honda Elevate Facelift Price and Rivals
The current Honda Elevate is priced between Rs 11.81 lakh and Rs 16.36 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model is expected to be priced higher than the current version. The Honda Elevate competes in the midsize SUV segment against models including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra and Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
Kunal Behl, Vice President - Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The Honda Elevate has established a strong position among SUV buyers in India, appreciated for its bold design, road presence, driving pleasure, safety, space and comfort. With the new Elevate, we are taking this proposition further by introducing several strongly desired features and enhancements, along with a bolder design and more premium cabin experience. India is the lead market for the Elevate, and we are proud to introduce the New Elevate first in India. As we open pre-launch bookings ahead of the festive season, we look forward to offering our customers an even more compelling Honda SUV and making their celebrations even more special.”
Elctrik Speaks
The Elevate facelift is expected to focus mainly on feature additions and cabin updates, while the existing petrol powertrain is likely to continue. The key question is whether Honda introduces the City's strong-hybrid system in the SUV, as hybrid powertrains are becoming more common in the midsize SUV segment. More details will be confirmed at the October 6 launch.
