BYD Sealion 6 test mules have been spotted testing in India, suggesting the Chinese automaker could be studying the plug-in hybrid SUV for the local market. The model was previously showcased by BYD at the 2025 Auto Expo as part of its global portfolio display.
If launched, the Sealion 6 would mark a shift for BYD India, which currently sells only fully electric passenger vehicles in the country. The SUV is expected to compete with upcoming plug-in hybrid offerings, including the Jetour T2-based SUV planned by JSW MG Motor India.
